Traditional Chinese Medicine: Guide to 12 Meridian Channels 2025

Eastern medicine also targets the human energy body as western medicine targets the physical body of a human being. According to Chinese medicine, which has different names, including traditional Chinese medicine, there are fourteen meridian channels through which human energy is believed to run. Limb meridians, of which there are twelve of them, run through the fascial system, a connective tissue between skin and muscles, while two go through the spinal fluid.

From these channels are marked with spots that, if neglected, have a propensity of drawing energy and creating hindrances that cause and halt the flow. These points can be unblocked through acupuncture and acupressure according to how deep they are from our skin surface. As for the second set of issues, which are the more profound ones, just as Western medicine focuses on the treatment of the physical body, Eastern medicine also concerns itself with the energy body.

Traditional Chinese Medicine, commonly called Chinese medicine, detects fourteen classic pulses where the seven basic channels are identified as the proper flow and the seven other channels are described as the secondary circulation. Of these, two run through the spinal fluid, and the other twelve, or the limb meridians, pass through the fascial system, which is located between the skin and the muscles. Qi Gong, Tai Chi, or internal martial arts may be performed to interfere with and unblock such an area.
